Role description:
Reporting to the Director of Sales and as a member of the sales team, the Account Manager's main objectives will be to generate new business opportunities in the target food sector, ensure the growth of target accounts and canvass new accounts. Through corporate decision-makers and influencers, he will develop sales opportunities and business partnerships. The consultative approach will enable him to work with his customers' management to analyze their business issues, and provide them with the tools to help them in their thinking. Following qualification of the most urgent business issues, he will work with the QC Service & Support group.
In his role as a strategic partner to new and existing customers, he will master business issues, as well as the Baseline Selling method (consultative selling), and will demonstrate leadership in the elaboration of market development strategies.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
o Increase the number of customers in his/her territory through prospecting;
o Increase opportunities with existing customers;
o Advise and discuss with customers the impact of their issues and prioritize their investments.
o Monitor markets;
o Plan and conduct opportunity transfer meetings with relevant internal collaborators according to the established process;
o Make prospecting calls to decision-makers and influencers.

Account management:
o Promote yourself and your company's offering in your market, including existing customers and organizations;
o Establish a preferred supplier relationship with customers;
o Follow-up, in conjunction with the relevant collaborators, on opportunities to maximize conversion potential;
o Conduct customer visits, in collaboration with relevant departments, to solidify positioning and ensure opportunity transfer;
o Advise and discuss with customers the impact of their issues and ensure that automation investments are optimized;
o Work, in collaboration with Service & Support QC, to present proposals in response to issues.

Internal tasks:
o Build service offers, according to company processes and standards, in collaboration with Service & Support QC;
o Work in collaboration with the account officer assigned to his/her territory;
o Know the company's offering and positioning (including typical problems the company can solve);
o Use and update the CRM on a daily basis (accounts, contacts, prospects, opportunities, calls, visits, etc.);
o Know the competition's offer and their value proposition;
o Establish yourself as a reference in your market;
o Use market knowledge to help optimize the company's offering and marketing development;
o Develop and execute a new customer acquisition strategy;
o Develop and execute a development strategy for existing customers;
o Develop an understanding of the company's support tools for new customer development;
o Present monthly results and sales strategy for the coming month;
o Participate actively in the development of seminars and conferences;

Job requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a consultative and relationship sales position in the food industry;
- Knowledge of food manufacturing processes and terms;
- Basic contacts in the food industry (asset);
- Technological knowledge (asset);
- Proficiency in Office suite software;
- Proficiency in CRM Dynamics (an asset);
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English.
- In this role, you will be required to interact with key customers and suppliers across Canada and the USA on a regular basis, in both spoken and written English.
