JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time
LOCATION: ***MARKHAM, ONTARIO***
SECTOR: Global privately owned engineering and construction firm
WORK MODEL: Hybrid - three (3) days in the office and two (2) days working from home
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5%-10%
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

With the recently opening of the Markham, Ontario office, our client is committed to significant local growth to meet the growing demand of clients in the GTA and Ontario for water project planning, design and construction management services.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
As a member of the Markham office team, you will contribute to the Company's mission by serving as project engineer, process engineer and/or task lead for water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects.

SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:
• Serving as project engineer on water and wastewater projects in the GTA and other municipalities in Ontario, responsible for investigations, operational troubleshooting, analysis, process engineering design, technology assessment, and leading preparation of technical memoranda and reports.
• Serving as process engineer to contribute to process and/or process mechanical and/or hydraulic design and supporting construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Collaborating with the Ontario Client Service Leader and corporate sales and marketing team members to provide input into proposal scope and budget preparation and liaising with clients to promote business development, reputation and relationships with municipal clients for water sector work in the GTA and Ontario.
• Participating in professional societies relevant to the industry.
• Collaborating with multi-discipline team members to gather, consolidate and coordinate technical information to support projects and proposals.
• Supervising, providing technical guidance to, and mentoring of engineering and technical staff to enhance the Company's water services capabilities in Ontario.
• Providing project technical support for projects in Ontario or for other offices in North America.
• Building and maintaining positive working relationships with key clients.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional engineering (P.Eng.) license.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience.
• Experience in leading and completing technical, process and design activities for water projects, and preparing written technical memoranda and reports.
• Experience working with multi-discipline project teams for water project studies and design.
• Experience working directly with clients.
• Experience working on projects for municipal clients in the greater Toronto area market.
• Business development experience including preparation of proposal scope and resource requirements for municipal clients.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel and scheduling software (e.g., MS Project)
• Demonstrated organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
• Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities.
