Our client is a communications company that develops, integrates and deploys innovative services in the areas of e-health, videoconferencing and relay centers, and is at the forefront of video relay technology for communities of deaf and hard of hearing around the world.

Our client has been selected by ACS to provide the technology platform and technical support to SRV Canada VRS. The VRS enables deaf and hard of hearing Canadians who use sign language to engage in real-time telephone conversations by connecting the client to a sign language interpreter through Internet video conferencing technology.

The position:
They are looking for a Level 2 Deployment and Support Engineer to perform all of the day-to-day technical operations necessary for the proper functioning of the SRV Canada VRS service infrastructure.
You are in close contact with the operations manager, service agents, supervisor, operations and development team in France; but also with external relations: users, clients, interpreting agencies and service providers.

Your technical skills:
• Linux system and application administration
o Software installation and system configuration
o Analysis of system and application traces
o Shell script
o Implementation of a monitoring system (monit, nagios, ...)
o Website administration
o Backup management

• Network administration:
o Analysis of wireshark traces
o Firewall management

Additional skills appreciated:
- Telephony over IP and RTP protocols would be a plus as well as experience in administering an Asterisk or SIP proxy type solution
- Knowledge of certain programming languages ​​such as PHP, JavaScript, HTML would be an asset.
- Knowledge of software such as Ansible would be an asset

You are flexible and resourceful, responsive, able to communicate with deaf colleagues.

Working conditions: Screen work, very occasional trips, on-call every other week.

Degree level: Engineer (or Technician with more than 5 years' experience) in the field of network information technologies and / or systems administration
Minimum experience: 2 YEARS
Languages: Bilingual, able to read and write technical documents in both English and French and interact with hearing customers and suppliers in both languages. LSQ or ASL sign language is an asset.

Place of work: Montreal, near the Jean Talon market.
