Computer Vision Scientist - AI / Computer Vision software based company

Our client is a Computer Vision based AI company that specializes in real-time object detection and tracking. They apply the latest research to solve real-world problems. As of now, they are cooperating with casinos and gambling venues in Quebec and across the world in developing a fraud detection and payment error technology. The need for this technology has been vital especially given how the casino and gambling industry have changed over the past few years. The first product they are working on detects fraud, payment errors and card counters on table games in casinos like blackjack.

They are currently looking for a Computer Vision Scientist be a subject matter expert in the team and develop models for small object detection and develop image processing algorithms to identify areas of interest.

The team is currently 8 people (4 in Dev team) and they plan to add 3 more by end of January and hope to double in size by end of next year. This would be a very interesting opportunity for someone to work in a fast-growing company with a lot of potential for further growth. They already have deals in place with some big players in the casino industry.

Title: Computer Vision Scientist
Location: Montreal, downtown (or working remote 100% is fine as well)
Position status: Full time permanent
Salary: Competitive + 3-4 weeks’ Vacation + discussion of Stock options

Responsibilities include:

• Develop models for small object detection
• Track partially occluded objects
• Create, clean, modify and enhance datasets of various objects
• Develop image processing algorithms to identify areas of interest.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Mathematics or related fields
• 5+ years of experience in developing applied computer vision solutions
• Comfortable with a research environment
• Autonomous and eager to learn

Skills required:
• Machine learning platform such as Tensorflow, Pytorch, Caffe or other.
• OpenCV library
• Git version control
• Python programming language
• Linux operating system

Nice-to-have:
• Experience as a lead
