Bilingual Area Sales Manager, Quebec & Maritimes

NOTE: This role is based in Montreal as it is the hub
TERRITORY: Province of Quebec and the Maritimes

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
 Local travel as needed to visit customers and customer sites. Depending on location of
customers and location of the candidate, this role may require overnight stay overs when
visiting remote customers. (Approximately 15% overnight travel is required).
 Travel outside of Canada may be required for sales meetings and training.
 Applicant must be a permanent resident of Canada and must hold either a Permanent
Resident Card or have Canadian Citizenship.
 Must have a valid driver's license and an excellent driving record.
 Must have a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:
Our client engages in the development, manufacturing, and sales of small precision, automotive, commercial and industrial motors, motors for machinery, electronic and optical components, and other related products.

SUMMARY OF ROLE
 Generate new orders for the Company’s standard products and services to meet booking
goals for accounts served directly and indirectly by this position.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
 NEW business development and securing new customers is a key activity so the applicant
must have experience and have an in-depth knowledge of the Industrial market in Quebec
and the Maritimes . Being able to win new accounts and new business is essential for
this role – a hunter type of approach.
 Be able to identify and create opportunities within large accounts with the key focus being on
OEM’s.
 Conduct daily sales appointments to customers to promote and sell the Company's products
 Develop and maintain an annual sales plan for assigned territory/accounts that meets or
exceeds his/her orders plan and grows market share.
 Weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting is a requirement in this role – there is a specific format
that will need to be followed
 Keep current on all of the Company’s products from a technical, application, pricing and
selling benefits standpoint.
 Prepare monthly sales forecast and target account pipeline updates for assigned accounts
directly served by this position within the CRM system.
 Generate and present to customers, written quotations and proposals for the Company’s
products and services following current pricing and sales policies.
 Be able to demonstrate the Company's standard demo equipment and train customers in applications, features and benefits of products and how they compare to competitive products.
 Follow up on all assigned leads and enter the results in the company’s CRM system.
Aggressively pursue the most promising opportunities.
 Assist with the Company's sponsored trade shows as requested.
 Document in the Company’s CRM system, and to manager and/or appropriate Company personnel, all customer appointments.
 Learn and follow current Company Sales processes including sales policies.
 Being diligent in keeping the companies CRM system up to date at all times is essential.
 This position offers a great opportunity for the right person who can prove that they are able
to develop and grow sales in an unserved market
 Must be willing to travel as and when needed for sales engagement, sales meetings and
training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education and Qualifications
Essential
 4 year engineering degree or diploma, plus sales courses and programmes (preferred).
 Must be proficient in sales and understand how to convince customers - Essential.
 Applicant must be a permanent resident of Canada and must hold either a Permanent
Resident Card or have Canadian Citizenship.
 Applicant must be able to travel both locally and internationally.

Experience
Essential
 A minimum of 5 years’ experience is required in selling VFD’s, and automation products such
as PLC’s and solutions/systems is preferred.
 Must have a good understanding of automation
 Must be able to engage the company’s internal engineering resources for assistance as
needed and be able to communicate requirements of customers.
 Must be proficient in Microsoft office software.
 Candidate must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
 Candidate must have a proven track record of developing new customers and increasing
sales revenue and market share.
