Reporting to the Director of Operations, the project manager will assist in the development of the annual operational plan and will lead the successful delivery of quality improvement projects to realize the objectives of the plan according to the standards developed by the Project Management Office (PMO).

He / She will ensure that projects have high-quality measurement and evaluation plans in place and that the projects are managed in accordance to best practices in project management. The Project Manager ensures all projects are executed in an efficient and effective manner with special focus on the Operational Plan objectives, deliverables, budget, risks and timeline.
This role has no patient contact.

• Successfully deliver projects within an inter-disciplinary team environment across three different hospitals in the network.
• Develop robust project management plans to aid in the execution of quality improvement projects following the standards set out by the PMO by setting realistic and attainable project milestones, deliverables and outcome indicators
• Assume ownership of multiple projects and ensure successful execution throughout the entire project life cycle
• Manage project activities related to scope, schedule, human resources, communications, risk, cost and procurement
• Identify, measure and report on benefits associated with projects
• Work closely with the project leaders and clinical leaders to develop project proposals that include sufficient project details, including budget, schedule, outcome measures, risks and stakeholder identification with the aim of achieving approval by the Executive Committee.
• Present project proposals and project updates at the Executive Committee meetings as required
• Work closely with multi-disciplinary project sponsors and stakeholders to build and maintain strong relationships to ensure success through project lifecycle
• Maintain a strong focus on change management and communications across the multiple stakeholders and organizations throughout projects
• Plan, organize and participate in regularly scheduled meetings with stakeholders to review project status and generate appropriate action plans to keep projects on track.
• Have oversight on project staff when relevant including allocation of resources to specific activities in the project plan
• Be an active and participating member of the Community of Practice whose focus is to bring continuous improvement to project management functions

• Bachelor Degree in Administration or other relevant field and pertinent experience in project management.
• 3 to 5 years of work experience in Health Care Administration (hospital setting ideal) with experience in Project Management. Additionally, experience in Change Management, Process Evaluation and/or Lean/Six Sigma is an asset
• Master’s degree Health Administration is a strong asset
• PMP Certification is an asset
• Strong project leadership and execution skills
• Capacity to effectively engage senior clinicians, researchers and professionals in an academic health science community
• Effective self-starter, autonomous, with the ability to exercise initiative and judgement
• Able to prepare and manage a budget
• Some knowledge of information systems, especially those found in a healthcare setting such as a hospital
