We are looking for a Senior Engineer in Geotechnical Engineering to join our Geotechnical Division on a full-time basis based in our head office Toronto. You will have the opportunity to work as a part of a regional team on challenging heavy civil, and geotechnical projects.

• 10 Years experience geotechnical engineering
• P.Eng accreditation
• Previous experience in leadership role
An overview of your:
• Direct a wide variety of geotechnical projects, including field investigation, laboratory testing and interpretation; design and construction; geotechnical analysis; and dam safety inspections and reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and co-developing the technical strategy with the president, and for developing and maintaining a technical roadmap that will continue to innovate from a technical standpoint.
• Assist Divisional Manager in fulfilling Engineering Division’s target revenue and staffing goals.
• Obtain relevant certifications from government agencies such as MTO RAQs within he first three to six months of employment to enhance Geotechnical Engineering Division technical abilities for infrastructure projects.
• Maintaining technical awareness of the Geotechnical Engineering Division and its employees with respect to all applicable cods of practice, design standards and health and safety regulations, expansion opportunities, customers, markets, new industry developments and new industry standards.
• Assist Divisional Manager in supervising, overseeing and directing the operations of the Geotechnical Engineering Division.
• Direct and review geotechnical analyses with a focus on soil mechanics; provide technical expertise in your specialization.
• Manage quality control and risks during geotechnical and design work, including critical review of results in coordination with Principal/Technical Director.
• Direct or manage large, complex, and/or multidisciplinary projects according to client-approved scopes of work and deliver high quality reports and drawings on time and within budget.
• Maintain existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities.
• Complete or review technical proposals and design work packages in response to client needs.
• Participate in hiring, performance reviews, and training decisions.
• Participate in and promote a safety-first culture.
You will have the following skills and attributes:

 Minimum of 8 years of relevant (post-degree) experience working in a consulting engineering.
 Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering, Master’s Degree preferred.
 Currently registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada.
 Expertise in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering, with a technical specialization.
 Excellent technical writing, interpersonal communication, and emotional intelligence. ability to establish good relationships with clients and colleagues.
 Strong, client-focused project direction and business development skills.
 Ability to manage risk and have excellent engineering judgement.
 Ability to effectively lead diverse, interdisciplinary project teams.
 Business acumen and leadership
