Title: Controller Accounting Operations
Status: Permanent, Full-time
Location: Montreal, Quebec (Hybrid)

• Maintain accounting, financial reporting, financial control, and information systems to ensure adequate records, confirm appropriate authorizations of transactions and safeguard assets.
• Ensure financial record systems and processes are maintained in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) as well as with company standard procedures.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for all of the North American Companies.
• Coordinate work and collaborate with internal and external auditors. Implement audit recommendations related to accounting operations on a timely and efficient fashion.
• In partnership with the internal control team, improve internal controls.
• Drive process automation and efficiency improvements.
• Prepare and ensure key statical information (i.e. full-time equivalents – FTEs) is accurate.
• Perform and analyze the compensation accounts and related accruals at month-end, quarter-end and year-end
• Ensure that operating cost allocations across all legal entities are appropriate.
• Provide the Financial Planning & Analysis team with full time equivalents (FTE) as well as compensation forecasts and budgets.
• Overview the inventory valuation process including physical inventory to ensure it is properly accounted for.
• In collaboration with the Tax group, ensure compliance with all levels of government both in the Corporate and Personal tax realm as well as the commodity tax area.
• In collaboration with the financial planning and analysis team, monitor and analyze monthly financial operating departmental result variances against budget and prior year to ensure all transactions are appropriate and within company standard procedures.
• Ensure capital expenditures are properly capitalized and compliant with the capital expenditure policy.
• Oversee the administration support of the North American fleet program, as well as administration support for the overall finance team.
• Align services as well as systems to support all business groups effectively and efficiently.

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Business, Accounting or related field.
• Chartered Public Accountant
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience. (preferably in a manufacturing environment)
• 10+ years of people management experience
• Dynamic, innovative thinker with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Strong people management, motivational and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Solid leadership skills.
• In depth knowledge of IFRS, multiple currencies and multiple entities environment
• Advanced knowledge of Accounting Systems/ERP (i.e. SAP)
• Bilingualism (French and English).
