Title: Warranty Services Representative, Common Elements Location: GTA, Ontario - on the road/work from home Salary: Competitive + Benefits + 4 weeks of vacation Industry: Construction/Home Builders Status: Full-time, Permanent To apply: Please send your CV to Pamela.Kumaravelu@groomassocies.com Responsibilities:• Provide fair, timely, quality and consistent service and technical and warrantyadvice to vendors, builders, consultants, condominium corporations, propertymanagers, homeowners and lawyers regarding condominium commonelement warranty related issues and compliance with Registrar Bulletins 19and 19R (RB19)• Maintain impartiality and open-mindedness while facilitating negotiation andresolution between the parties to a warranty claim by providing direction andencouraging parties to find a compromise or a mutually satisfying solution• Conduct inspections and meetings with external clients regardingcondominium common element• Make recommendations for vendor/builder financial security retention at theconclusion of the construction process and throughout the warranty process• Make rulings and decisions on common element warranty claims with a riskexposure of up to 3.5 million dollars• Complete estimates and set/adjust financial reserves, and manage contractorand consultant services, procurement, and on-site warranty repairs as required• Represent Tarion as a witness at the License Appeal Tribunal, and as arepresentative at Builder Associations and public outreach activitiesQualifications:• Minimum 3 years’ construction-related diploma from a community college• 5 - 7 years’ construction-related experience – preferably in low-rise and high-riseresidential construction methods• An out-going self-starter with the ability to make decisions based on practicalbuilding knowledge• Excellent negotiating, time management and interpersonal skills• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and Internet environments• Strong observation and problem-solving skills• Comprehensive and working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code andconstruction practices in Ontario• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team within a dynamic environment• Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license and reliable transportation• Access to High Speed Internet connection at home office is essentialWe thank all candidates for showing interest in our Company; however, only retained candidates will be contacted.
